By Rohit Singla (Lead Author): We often talk about the importance of teaching doctors about AI, but in our study, we take it a step further—we break down what they should be taught in medical education.

Using the Delphi method, we developed a Canadian AI Medical Curriculum, identifying essential competencies in AI ethics, application, law, collaboration, communication, and quality improvement. Our expert panel of 18 health and AI leaders across Canada guided this framework to address both clinical needs and educational priorities.

This curriculum doesn’t just advocate for AI literacy—it delivers a structured, consensus-driven approach to help future doctors master the skills and knowledge needed to effectively use AI tools in their practice.

It’s about bridging the gap between theoretical AI advancements and practical clinical implementation.

Thrilled to share our new review article on ultrasound-guided needle localization! This project stands out due to the fantastic collaboration between our lead author, Alvin Bagetuuma Kimbowa, and an incredible group of undergraduate students (Alex Pieters, Parsa Tadayon, Ishi Arora, Sabrina Gulam, Antonio Pinos) from the Engineers in Scrubs program at School of Biomedical Engineering at UBC under the leadership of our clinical PI Prof. David Liu.

We are thrilled to announce that our collaborative work has been accepted to the 2024 BMVC! Congratulations to our lab member Moein Heidari for his significant contributions to this outstanding achievement. CODE
