Projects
The specific clinical projects vary from brain health (traumatic brain injury, dementia), liver and kidney disease, lung disease, endometriosis, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology. You will be involved in developing and deploying machine learning methods to solve important clinical problems. You will be interacting with expert clinicians, engineers, and scientists. There will be opportunities for international travel for collaborations and presentations of research work at international meetings.
Qualifications
Experience in medical image analysis
Experience in developing machine learning (deep learning) methods for medical imaging data
Software skills (Python, MONAI, ITK, C++)
For Ph.D. candidates record of publication in international conferences (MICCAI, IPCAI, MIDL, IEEE) and/or journals.
Undergraduate Student Opportunities
Our laboratory is always happy to host undergraduate students for various research projects. If your interest is in medical image analysis, computer-assisted surgery, diagnostics, and software development. Please email your transcript and CV to Dr. Ilker Hacihaliloglu for initial evaluation.

Mostly our laboratory accepts graduate students through the School of Biomedical Engineering. However, we also collaborate with students from ECE, Engineering in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science departments.
